Outflow and Infall in a Sample of Massive Star Forming Regions II: Large Scale Kinematics

چکیده
We present maps of seven sources selected from Klaassen & Wilson (2007a) in SiO (J=8-7) and HCO and HCO (J=4-3) which were obtained using HARPB on the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope. We find that four out of our seven sources have infall signatures based on their HCO emission profiles. From our maps, we have determined the extent of both the outflowing and infalling regions towards these sources, and constrained the amount of infalling and outflowing mass as well as the mass infall rate for each massive star forming region. From our SiO observations, we estimate the source luminosity required to shock the surroundings of these massive star forming regions and find luminosities similar to those of the HII regions themselves. We find that the ratio between our infall and outflow masses is less than one, suggesting high mass entrainment rates in the molecular outflows. We also find that the large scale molecular infall rate towards G10.6-0.4 is comparable to the small scale molecular infall rate found in previous studies. Infall, outflow, and turbulence in massive star-forming cores in the G333 giant molecular cloud
We present molecular line imaging observations of three massive molecular outflow sources, G333.6–0.2, G333.1–0.4, and G332.8–0.5, all of which also show evidence for infall, within the G333 giant molecular cloud (GMC). All three are within a beam size (36 arcsec) of IRAS sources, 1.2-mm dust clumps, various masing species, and radio continuum-detected H II regions and hence are associated with...
متن کاملA spatially resolved map of the kinematics , star formation and stellar mass assembly in a star - forming galaxy at z = 4 . 9
We present a detailed study of the spatially resolved kinematics, star formation and stellar mass in a highly amplified galaxy at z= 4.92 behind the lensing cluster MS 1358+62. We use the observed optical, nearand mid-infrared imaging from Hubble Space Telescope ACS & NICMOS and Spitzer IRAC to derive the stellar mass and the Gemini/NIFS IFU to investigate the velocity structure of the galaxy f...
متن کاملMolecular outflows towards O-type young stellar objects
Context. The formation of massive stars is not well-understood and requires detailed observational studies in order to discriminate between the different proposed star formation models. Aims. We have searched for massive molecular outflows in a sample of high-mass star forming regions, and we have characterised both the outflow properties and those of their associated molecular clumps. With a s...
متن کاملRotational Structure and Outflow in the Infrared Dark Cloud 18223 - 3 ⋆
Aims. We examine an Infrared Dark Cloud at high spatial resolution as a means to study rotation, outflow, and infall at the onset of massive star formation. Methods. The Infrared Dark Cloud (IRDC) 18223-3 was observed at 1.1 mm and 1.3 mm with the Submillimeter Array (SMA) and follow-up short spacing information was obtained with the IRAM 30 m telescope. Additional data were taken at 3 mm with ...
متن کاملMicrostructure and kinematics of H 2 O masers in the massive star forming region IRAS 06061 + 2151
We have made multi-epoch VLBI observations of H2O maser emission in the massive star forming region IRAS 06061+2151 with the Japanese VLBI network (JVN) from 2005 May to 2007 October. The detected maser features are distributed within an 1×1 (2000 au×2000 au at the source position) around the ultra-compact H II region seen in radio continuum emission. Their bipolar morphology and expanding moti...
